RETURN & REFUND POLICY
J&J Lanka Gemstones
Overview
At J&J Lanka Gemstones, we specialise in natural and rare gemstones. Because every gemstone is unique and often high-value, our return policy is designed to protect both the buyer and the integrity of the stones.
By purchasing from our store, you agree to the following Return & Refund Policy.
1. Natural Gemstone Disclaimer
All gemstones sold by J&J Lanka Gemstones are natural stones unless otherwise stated.
Because gemstones are naturally formed:
• No two stones are identical
• Natural inclusions, colour zoning, or slight variations are normal
• Minor variations in size, symmetry, or polish may occur due to hand cutting
These characteristics are not considered defects and are not eligible for returns.
2. Change of Mind
We generally do not accept returns for change of mind, incorrect selection, or personal preference.
However, nothing in this policy overrides your rights under Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
3. Damaged or Incorrect Items
If you receive a gemstone that is damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery.
To process a claim, you must provide:
• An unedited unboxing video showing the package being opened
• Clear photos of the gemstone and packaging
• Your order number
Without an unboxing video, we may not be able to verify shipping damage.
4. Post-Delivery Damage
We cannot accept returns for gemstones that are damaged after delivery, including:
• Stones chipped or cracked during jewelry setting
• Damage caused by third-party jewelers
• Damage from improper handling
We recommend having gemstones set only by experienced professional jewelers.
5. Return Approval
If your return is approved:
• The gemstone must be returned in its original condition
• The gemstone must not be altered, set, or modified
• The gemstone must be returned in its original packaging
Returns that show signs of wear, alteration, or damage may be rejected.
6. Refunds
Once the returned gemstone has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.
If approved, your refund will be processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Shipping fees are generally non-refundable unless the item was incorrect or defective.
7. Return Shipping
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to:
• A defective item
• An incorrect item sent by us
For high-value gemstones, we recommend using tracked and insured shipping.
We are not responsible for lost return packages.
8. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to:
• A replacement or refund for a major failure
• Compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage
• Repair or replacement if goods fail to be of acceptable quality
